This is Victoria & Westminster

The SW1 postcode is home to some of the capital’s most famous landmarks: Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. With a thriving transport hub, luxury retail developments and prestigious neighbours, it attracts both established and new businesses – including Microsoft and Google. Many Argyll Club customers choose to base their business in our Victoria and Westminster office or coworking locations. In this guide, we explore what it’s like to work in this prestigious area.

Getting Here

At the heart of the area is the renowned London Victoria transport hub, giving easy access to south and south-eastern mainlines and the London Underground. All three Argyll Club Victoria & Westminster workspaces are a short walk from Victoria, or Westminster underground station. Riding here is easy too – the area is served well by Quietway cycle routes, as well as Santander Cycle docking stations.

Take A Breather

When you have a moment to grab some air, you have Green Park and St James’s Park on your doorstep. Walk a little further and you’ll be on the banks of the Thames, where you’ll find the serene Victoria Tower Gardens. If you fancy good coffee, Iris & June are an independent bunch of talented baristas, Ole & Steen serves coffee sourced from single estate farms – as well as delicious Danish pastries – and Black Sheep Coffee’s baristas deliver speciality-grade coffees.

Lunch Like A Local

Landmark new development Nova Victoria is home to countless culinary adventures. Timmy Green is an Aussie-inspired cafe offering all-day brunch, Sourced Market is the place for artisanal deli and charcuterie delights, or Shake Shack serves up all the fast-food classics. Take your time at bustling brasserie Rail House Cafe and enjoy the handsome surroundings, or treat a client or friend to a dim sum feast at the double Michelin-starred A Wong.

Workout And Wind Down

When you want to burn off some steam, Hyde Park gives you space to run, play or workout. Ride at London’s biggest cycle studio 1Rebel, go for a full-body work out at Gymbox or Barry’s Bootcamp, or dance and stretch it out at Frame.

Close Of Business

When you wrap up for the day, SW1 doesn’t disappoint. Take a wander down Elizabeth Street and drop into its countless boutiques, restaurants and pubs, including the distinguished Thomas Cubitt. Head to Ahi Poké for a bowl of responsibly-sourced seafood, or a bowl of ramen at Bone Daddies. For an evening of fun and culture, test your aim at Flight Club, or sing-along to Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
