Love for London

2020 has been tough for everyone. Especially small, local charities. As a proud London business, we want to give back to the communities and charities on our doorstep. We’re working together to donate time, energy and enthusiasm to help those who need it most.

Each of our seven teams has hand-picked a local charity close to The Argyll Club, and close to our hearts. We’re coming up with creative ways to support our chosen charities over the next few months. Everyone at The Argyll Club is committed to making a difference for the community we work and live in, and is excited to show our love for London.

The Mayfair (North) & Marylebone and Property Team are working with The Marylebone Project which supports female homeless and rough sleepers by organising a warm clothing collection and sponsored walk in January, which will run from The Argyll Club’s workspace at 20 North Audley Street to The Marylebone Project’s headquarters, passing monuments of inspirational women like Millicent Fawcett, Florence Nightingale and Virginia Woolf.

Support them via their JustGiving page.

The Victoria, Knightsbridge & Sales team are putting together an online cookbook and proceeds will go towards Doorstep Library in Belgravia, which delivers books to disadvantaged children and volunteers read to children.

To buy the cookbook, visit their fundraising page here.

The Mayfair (Brook St) & Marketing team have organised a toiletries collection that will contribute to ‘fresh start’ boxes for West London Mission, which is part of Westminster Council’s sleeping rough network initiative.

Support them via their JustGiving page.

The Mayfair (South) and IT Team are filling a 30kg box with unwanted clothes, jewellery and other collectables and Vintage Giving will value the items and donate their worth to Cancer Research. To find out what items you can donate, click here.

Support them via their JustGiving page. If you would like to donate any items, please give them to the team in a sealed bag at Reception in any of our Mayfair South workspaces.

The Holborn, Covent Garden & Finance team are working with Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust, which provides opportunities for social, educational and recreational activities development, by holding a food collection as well as asking colleagues, family and friends to donate the cost of their commute to the charity whilst working from home. The team are also putting together ‘Christmas Shoeboxes’.

If you would like to donate non-perishable food items, please give them to the team at Reception in any of our Holborn & Covent Garden workspaces.

The St James’, Soho & Westminster & Human Resources team are working with St Vincent’s Family Project, which supports young families in Westminster with parenting, housing, income, relationships and health, by collecting toys, providing support at charity sessions and holding a sponsored Christmas Jumper day.

Support them via their fundraising page. If you would like to donate any toys, please give them to the team at Reception in any of our St James’, Soho & Westminster workspaces.

The City & Customer Services Team have partnered with The New Normal in Spitalfields, which supports people who have suffered loss, and are raising money by organising a team quiz in the new year.

Support them via their JustGiving page.

We'll be sharing weekly updates of what our teams have been up to, so check this page and follow our hashtag #ArgyllClubLove4London.

Here's what we've been up to recently...

The Holborn, Covent Garden & Finance team reached their fundraising target raising over £1,125 for Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust and delivered boxes of food donations to the charity. Thank you to everyone for your support. Their Christmas Shoeboxes were collected and delivered to homeless people in need before Christmas.

The Victoria, Knightsbridge & Sales team have launched their online cookbook full of delicious recipes, donated by the team. All proceeds will go towards Doorstep Library in Belgravia who support children and their families living in disadvantaged areas by helping them find joy in reading. The charity gives them access to books and helps them with their literacy skills, hoping to give them the best possible opportunity in life to reach their full potential.
