To ensure we can provide a safe working environment and comply with the government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy (published on 11th May 2020), Argyll has conducted a risk assessment. The assessment relates to the communal areas of our clubs, the activities undertaken by our team within these areas and their impact on the safety of our team, members and their guests.

Each company or organisation is required to undertake their own risk assessment before returning to work, taking into consideration the full scope of their business activities and their impact on health, safety and welfare.

You can carry out your own risk assessment using the guidance and template provided by the HSE or appoint a competent person to undertake this on your behalf. It is worth noting that if you have fewer than 5 employees, you do not need to have a written risk assessment, but it is advisable to do so, so you can review it at a later date. If you have five or more employees you are required by law to write your risk assessment down.

As a result of your risk assessment, you may need to consider the following measures:

  • Reviewing the layout of your office

  • Enforcing a clear desk policy to facilitate regular and effective cleaning

  • Acquiring and installing desk screen dividers

  • Providing additional hand sanitisers and wipes

  • Providing face coverings to members of your team and your guests

  • Reviewing your work activities to reduce contact and adhere to social distancing guidelines
